'Human verification' device vs. cyber threats to launch in PH

World, a global network focusing on people's identity and finances, is planning to roll out its "human verification" device across the Philippines this year in a bid to combat online fraud amid the proliferation of deepfake technology. World's device, called "The Orb," aims help protect people from online threats and ensure their identities are verified. Damien Kieran, World chief legal and privacy officer, told reporters last week that The Orb has successfully completed pilot testing in areas of Bulacan and will soon expand to popular spots in Metro Manila, such as Gateway Mall in Quezon City and Greenhills Mall in San Juan.
