FEU Tech rolls out OpenAI tools

The Far Eastern University Institute of Technology (FEU Tech) said on Friday that it aims to become an artificial intelligence (AI)-native university through a partnership with the research company OpenAI. "AI is no longer an optional skill for students or faculty. The opportunity here is leadership," FEU Tech Senior Executive Director Benson Tan said in a statement. "We are defining how AI is used responsibly in Philippine higher education," he added. A study by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Foundation found that 83% of Filipino students use generative AI models for academic purposes. Meanwhile, 73% of Filipino educators use the technology for teaching, but only 42% use it for written tasks.
