Robert Downey Jr. spent years playing a tech billionaire who could summon digital displays with a wave of his hand. Now, his latest role brings a little of Tony Stark's world to life. The actor has joined Specs, Snap's augmented reality glasses business, as its honorary chief customer experience officer. Announced Oct. 20, the partnership will involve original content, custom AR experiences, hardware collaborations, and in-person experiences. Downey is well aware of the casting here. In the announcement, he said the glasses deliver on the promise of AR technology associated with "a certain techno optimist superhero I portrayed." "Life imitates art-imitates life!" he added.
