The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has denied allegations of a data breach, assuring the public that its system remains secure and uncompromised. In a statement released Monday, the poll body clarified that the documents allegedly circulating on the dark web were publicly available records from previous election cycles. "Initial investigation yielded that the information supposedly subject of the 'data breach/leak' now being peddled in the dark web pertain to the Lists of Applicants for Consideration for the RERB Hearing and the Lists of Approved Applicants from the 2013 Election-Year Registration Cycle," the statement read.
