PETALING JAYA: Using information given to other government agencies for the Central Database Hub (Padu) database without explicit permission of the owner is a breach of personal data privacy, says Datuk Dr Seri Wee Ka Siong. "Who has given the right for those in power to use data from 217 agencies to fill up Padu (database)? "I think we all know an individual's rights. If that is my information and I choose to not share it but a third party uses certain powers to fill up (Padu data) on someone's behalf, doesn't that infringe on personal rights?" asked the MCA president after a break fast event with the media at Wisma MCA in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday (April 2).
