Coalition urges probe into Stradcom-led LTO system, data breach

MANILA, Philippines -- A coalition on Thursday urged the Land Transportation Office (LTO), Department of Transportation (DOTr), and the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DepDev) to address its concerns on possible data breach and alleged bypass of clearance over the continued use of Stradcom-led LTO IT system. Coalition 169 noted that the LTO continued its rollout of the IT system in Regions 9, 10, 11, 12, and Caraga, alleging that no clearance was obtained for the system's use in government-owned workstations. It noted that approval from the DepDev is important "to ensure that the public is not charged excessive fees for services under a Build, Own, Operate (BOO)" arrangement.
