BANGKOK -- In a major bid to eliminate frustrating airport bottlenecks and modernize its borders, Thailand's Immigration Bureau has begun testing a new national mobile application. The platform, named Thailand Immigration Management (THIM), allows foreign travelers to log their arrival details well before their flights touch down in the kingdom. Developed in partnership with Digital Identity Co., Ltd. and powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud technology, the application provides an official, paperless gateway for international visitors. By inputting passport data and travel itineraries directly into their smartphones, travelers generate a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC).
