Just a day ago Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced a ban on Waze for civil servants on official duty and strongly recommending TuJu, a locally developed highway navigation app as a privacy-centric alternative. Within 24 hours of the government mandate and media exposure, TuJu suffered widespread server outages, route navigation failures, and UI glitches. Downloads skyrocketed past 700,000 in a single day, causing the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) and co-developer Prosignal Consortium to issue an official public apology for the system crash.
