AT&T Settlement Payments Could Arrive Soon: Who Qualifies for Checks of Up to $5,000?

Kroll estimates ordinary payments of $6.50 to $40, while eligible claimants with documented losses may qualify for more. Nearly five million people filed claims in AT&T's $177 million data breach settlement, but they are still waiting to find out when the money will arrive. A federal judge approved the settlement on Oct. 2, 2026, bringing the case closer to payouts without setting a confirmed payment date. The settlement's payment schedule depends on the end of the appeal period and the review of claims. Under the court-approved terms, payments must be sent electronically or by paper check within 60 days of the settlement's effective date. If the process proceeds without an appeal, current estimates point to a payment deadline in January 2027. That does not mean every claimant will receive a check by then.
