Personal data of agents and customers likely affected, official statement says. Prudential Malaysia has confirmed that two of its local subsidiaries, Prudential Assurance Malaysia Bhd (PAMB) and Prudential BSN Takaful Bhd (PruBSN), have been affected by a cybersecurity attack. Via an official statement published on its website, the multinational insurance company revealed that both of which suffered a data breach caused by the MOVEit zero-day vulnerability exploit, which had also hit many companies across the world. For the uninitiated, MOVEit is a file transfer software preferred by many global organisations for its renowned security, especially when handling confidential data. However, its reputation came under fire recently due to a zero-day vulnerability exploit, which allowed attackers with the means to steal data directly from companies that are utilising it.
