Dell Suffers Data Breach; 49 Million Customers Reportedly Affected - Lowyat.NET

Dell has put out a warning to its customers, informing them that it has suffered a serious data breach. It claims that hackers have made of with the personal details of approximately 49 million customers. "We are currently investigating an incident involving a Dell portal, which contains a database with limited types of customer information related to purchases from Dell," reads a Dell data breach notification. However, the computer brand believes that there isn't a significant risk to the its customer base, given the sensitivity and nature of information the threat actors made off with. Dell specifically states that the stolen data did not contain any financial or payment information, email addresses, or telephone numbers, and that it is currently working with law enforcement and 3rd party forensics in the US to determine how exactly the hackers managed to breach its cybersecurity inf...
