Lee Hsien Yang questions PAP's competence and accountability ahead of 14th General Election

In a strongly worded Facebook post on 18 April, Lee Hsien Yang criticised the ruling People's Action Party's claims of efficiency and accountability, citing recent failures -- from the NRIC data breach and MRT breakdowns to costly infrastructure missteps -- just before the commencement of the Singapore's 14th General Election on 23 April. Lee Hsien Yang has publicly challenged the ruling People's Action Party's (PAP) long-standing claims of exceptional competence and efficiency. In a Facebook post published on 18 April, Lee criticised what he described as a breakdown in accountability and performance in recent years.
